”Odysseus”2017 (mixed media on panel 30”x26”), currently available at LAST RITES GALLERY in New York and seen here back in the studio just about finished before framing. (Framed version shown hanging at the gallery) As this piece was developing, I began to see the figure, alone and abandoned, in a barren expanse of dry grasses. The helmet-like head and the shapes that made up the figure started to suggest to me something almost Ancient Greek...a warrior left behind in a wasteland or perhaps at sea, lost forever in time.
